Screen & Recoat (Buff & Coat)
If your floors are in generally good shape but look dull or lightly scratched, we can lightly abrade the surface and apply a fresh top coat. This refreshes the finish without a full sanding and can extend the life of your floors.

Minor Repairs Before Refinishing

• In-Home Consultation
  We visit your home, inspect your floors, discuss your goals, and help you decide between a full refinish or a screen and recoat.

• Preparation & Protection
  We ask that furniture and personal items be moved from the work area. We then protect nearby surfaces as needed and explain what to expect during the project.

• Sanding & Smoothing
  We sand the floors to remove old finish, scratches, and surface wear. We use professional equipment and methods to keep dust under control as much as possible.

• Stain Application (If Desired)
  If you’re changing or refreshing the color, we apply the stain evenly and allow it to fully dry.

• Finish Coats
  We apply multiple coats of durable finish (water-based or oil-based, depending on your preference and needs) to protect your floors and give them the desired sheen—matte, satin, semi-gloss, or gloss.

• Final Inspection & Clean-Up
  Once the finish has cured, we walk the floors with you, review care instructions, and make sure you’re happy with the result.
